The project began in Fall 2021 and is expected to end in Fall 2023.
Enhancing aesthetic reception of contemporary music through active tempo control with physiological monitoring
EAR Stretch aims to study and improve the reception of contemporary music in general audiences with no specific music training. New Music will be composed for disklavier and a controller will be designed for changing the musical tempos in real-time by tapping. Listeners will be invited to take part in a study where the embodiment of the new compositions through the musical tempo controller will be investigated with physiological sensors.
